A Love Letter to My Dog
A written and photographic celebration of the dogs we love. A book project.
Not just a picture book of cute dogs...
A collection of deeply personal letters written by you, to the dog who changed your life and truly soulful portraits to touch the heart. This is for anyone who has ever loved a dog has wanted them and the world to know just how much they are loved.
The book also aims to raise critical funds for pet rescue charities that pour time, labour, love and resources into finding new homes.
This project is here to honour your dog in your words and with portraits that show the beauty, and soul of your dog to share with the world. This limited edition book and the timeless works of art we create will be a permanent tribute to your dog/s in communion with other beloved dogs to have and hold always.
The Book
THE DETAILS
Applications are now open. All types of people and dogs of all ages and stages can apply with the only requirement being the ability to come into the Love Tails Studio for the photography session and pay the $180 registration fee, 50% of which will go to a pet rescue charity to help more dogs start their love story with their new person.

This includes a pet photography session with Love Tails Photography studio to create beautiful images of your dog and your feature in the book. You can of course bring multiple dogs and your partner, and immediate family to make the most of your photography session and get the photos you've always wanted with your dog. You will also get an image review and artwork creation appointment where you have the opportunity choose your favourite images and create heirloom artworks in stunning frames, prints, albums, and treasure boxes.

50% of this registration fee and 50% of the any profit from the book sales benefit the rescue that you choose from the nominated organisations.

Only 30 spots will be available, and applications will be reviewed before you are invited to participate. If I receive more than 30 applications, priority will be given to those that best align with the book's vision and goals.

Once you are accepted, you will need to write your Love Letter and final spots will be offered to applicants whose dogs and letters align with the artistic vision and prioritising those who value the opportunity to create meaningful and lasting artwork that celebrates their pet’s unique personality and story.

'A Letter to My Dog - A written and photographic celebration of the dogs we love' will be self-published, and professionally printed. This project will be prioritising quality content over speed, so there is no release date finalised just yet. The project may be promoted through using some participant content as it is created.
The registration fee does not include digital files, prints, or products. Artwork and print products are purchased separately. The book will also be available to purchase separately.
There is no cost to apply, payment will only be required upon acceptance.
YOUR EXPERIENCE
Once you have registered, we will have a chat on the phone to plan your shoot based on your letter, and I'll answer any questions and help you get ready.

Your studio shoot is in the pretty Love Tails studio in the quaint suburb of Hurlstone Park (Inner West Sydney). It's safe, private, climate controlled and relaxed, there is space to be yourselves.

My signature style is 'posed candid' which means you look good then all the movement and expression within that pose is you and your dog, so the moments and memories are real. I will style your shoot to suit your taste, home and decor.

A few days later, you'll come back for your slideshow and artwork mock-ups using my interior design program. I will guide you as you choose the images capture the true heart and soul of who you and your pets are artwork that suits your taste, lifestyle and budget. Carefully chosen artwork will instantly become some of your most treasured possessions, frames come ready to hang, treasure boxes are filled with matted photos and albums that are designed in tandem with you and of course small digital files to save to your phone and share online.

Preserving beautiful memories of your dog and your special relationship is something you will always be glad you carved out the time to do. I will select a gorgeous photo of your dog or you and your dog together to feature in the book, so not only will you have beautiful keepsakes, but be a part of a book that honors your dog and your bond the way they truly deserve.
