I still think about Bec and Ruby

One day a few years ago I got a call from Bec. Ruby's bone cancer had spread. She was still feeling ok, but she had started refusing to eat. We quickly organised a time for them to have some photos together. After a quick chat, I told Bec that what I really wanted to do was capture how it felt to have Ruby as a dog so we had a cuddle session and captured the warmth and beauty of their life together. This photo is now on Bec's bedside, it's still her phone screen saver even after she had the most beautiful wedding to a lovely man, Ruby still lights up every time she unlocks her phone.

This photo was printed on a fine art canvas and I have a copy in my studio as well because it perfectly encapsulates why I do this. You can see it when you visit, it has as much impact today as the day it was printed. It still inspires me every day to keep doing what I'm doing. Please give your pups a hug from me. xo Cristal
